Reboot via RDP session

by NormH3 In reply to how to reboot a server re ...

Before you reboot any server, it is always wise to make sure that no one is accessing it's files or applications.

After you have logged into the server, open a command window. From the command window type shutdown -r
The -r is the REBOOT tag. After several seconds, you will loose your RDP session while the server is rebooting.

If you are in RDP in a server, you should have the reboot option from the start menu, otherwise you can go to start - run - and type shutdown -r
