how to setup vlans with dhcp on Windows server

By pdperkins ·
I have 2 vlans, one for voice and one for data. They use different IP address schemes. HOw do you configure windows server dhcp to issue the appropriate addresses?

1.) Add secondary scope for VOIP
2.) Set Predefined options (vendor specific)
3.) Configure IP/PORT/TFTP/HTTP information for predefined options on DATA side. For VOIP side you must specify VLAN configuration under the scope options.
4.) Configure all switches for 2 VLANS (Primary and Secondary) Secondary VLANs must all have the same vlanid which is configured as an option on VLAN scope on dhcp server.
5.) QoS must be enabled as trusted VLAN for easiest configuration unless you want to dive into packet information, application and port based QoS
6.) Verify that you can ping across VLANs.

You will need to verify dhcp options by your vendors specifications whether Avaya, Cisco, Mitel etc.. Hope this helps you.
