Hello Jose! Problem is very simple - you should create a table, where some columns must have BLOB type. How to load pictures and sounds files into such table - that may be not easy for the first time because some technical issues. I recommend a bookfrom ORACLE Documentation set "ORACLE 8i Application Developer Guide - Large Objects (LOB)". There is also BFILE database type - reference to the picture or sound file in file system.
Hope this will be of some help for you.

We chose to overcome this by storing the pictures and sound in a seperate directory, and just using a text column to "point" to the other file. We imbedded viewing software to view the pictures (special format) and regular wav files played via WIN32API.

Hi All,

You can use DBMS_LOB package to insert the value in the columns with data type as BLOB, CLOB or NCLOB. You can also use BFILE to store the Pics and other files on the OS.

Hi All,

To find out the Space used by various Tablespaces, following, simple query can be used.

Select Tablespace_name, Bytes / (1024/1024) "Size in MB" from SYS.sm$ts_used;

And similarly, if you want to check the Free Space available in the Tablespaces, check in 'sm$ts_free' instead of 'sm$ts_used'.

Bye,
Rajinder Singh
