One method is to start your PC from a windows system diskette, and use fdisk to delete the linux partition and create the fat32 partition. Then format and install windows or whatever you want.

Side note, you may also have to run fdisk /mbr if your Linux boot loader has installed on the boot partition.

I've had problems with Windows fdisk recognizing a Linux partition, so you may want to make a linux bootdisk and copy the linux version of fdisk to a separate floppy.

You can "reinstall" the Linux as usual; however, after "re-assigning" (deleting) the directories, such as root, swap, ..., do not proceed the installation, just reboot the computer with the windows setup disk!

If you have an older motherboard, you might
have a problem if you installed SuSe. A
REAL problem. There is a bios "issue".
Dos will not boot from floppy and it will
ignore any thing but SuSe. I didn't write
it down unfortunately, but you have to
contact SuSe and have them tell you how to
use their install disk to remove the
partions and kill it. Then partion majic
had to be used to re-write the mbr. Normal
stuff I tried did not work. After all that,
I up-dated the bios on myAsus p2b mb and
all is well.
