HP Officejet 85 slowly printing

I'm not sure if this will help but here goes.

I'm running a hp psc 2110 (printer/scanner/copier all-in-one) on w2k so it might apply to you. Are you running it usb or parallel? Usb is probably faster.

When I installed my drivers the hp installation added a driver for the 6100 series director. I have no idea why. I had the same problems as you are mentioning (when the printer would run at all). After investigating what was going on I removed the 6100 series director form the startup group and everything worked great after that.

I've also seen this on a couple of client machines running win98 and winme.

Just something to look at.

enjoy,

We have a couple of G85 here at work running 2000. 1 st thing...in the BIOS Set the Printer from Enhanced Mode to Standard, or other way around ( cant really remember ) THe other problem we had is, if you have Norton installed you must go and exclude alll the HP Driver Files. eg. Windows\System32 and wherever u installed the HP Software.
