    HP Webjet Admin

    Locked

    by tdendinger ·

I have HP Webjet Admin ver 10.xxx installed and for some reason it can not finid several HP printers on the domain. I can use the printer’s Web interface to browse them and make changes but not the Jet Admin. All of the printer settings appear to be correct. All of the printers were being properly displayed and then the Web JetAdmin software started causing XP lock ups, so I uninstalled, reinstalled and updated the JetAdmin & now 3 printers are not being listed. Any ideas on this?

I use the Web JetAdmin to monitor network printers when a user sends helpdesk an email concerning printing. That way I can take a quick look and determine if it is a paper jam, or if the printer needs a maintenance kit, ect. I also use it to keep track of about when to order supplies for the printers.

SNMP v1/v2 is enabled for read-write on the JetDirect cards.

I’ve already verified that SNMP is enabled on all 3 of the printers in question before POSTing this here. First thing I checked. What is puzzeling to me it that those 3 printers were being displayed prior to the software problem that forced me to uninstall & reinstall. Thanks

Un-install the software in question, go into your registry..

And delete anything that is related to the software in there. Just the software nothing else. Be careful though. WARNING!!! Do a full back up before you do this. When all is gone re-boot your computer and the re-install the software, hopefully this will bring the printers back into your monitoring window.
