I apologize I just realized I am in the wrong section. duh! sorry

hello. am trying to un-install desktop xprofessional, but when i go to add & remove programs and click on the uninstall option a message "could not open install.log file" comes up. is there a program that can access and totally remove this program from my laptop. Toshiba Satellite, 32 bit XP Professional SP3. My skill level with computers is very novice. i hope my question is not stupid. thank you for your time. t

or did I miss something?

some things to try:

find where the program is located (C:\program files\...), and there should be an uninstall file (or setup file)

try the uninstaller in ccleaner ( http://www.piriform.com/ccleaner )

try revo uninstaller ( http://www.revouninstaller.com/revo_uninstaller_free_download.html )

see how that goes

Are you trying to remove the Operating System?

...If so, you won't be able to that by using the OS that you're trying to remove.
Your Laptop has Windows XP installed. (It came that way I assume)
If for some reason you would really like to remove that...
The Hard drive would have to be completely Wiped, Cleaned, and reformatted.
But, you do realize that the Laptop will not work until another OS is installed.
