I have run out of free space on drive

By Blackcurrant ·
Hi

I have several partitions on my Win98 machine. Some of these are quite small and about once a week I receive a message saying Drive is full, do I want to run disk cleanup? Does anyone know if there is a registry hack that can stop this message being displayed, or which can cause the message only to be displayed when, say, only 5MB of free space is available?

Thanks

Check out these MSKB articles:

"Hard Disk Is Low on Disk Space" Message
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;Q191824

Low Disk Space Notification Received When Drive Is Full
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;Q188074

(Remove any extraneous spaces from the above URLs).

According to the articles, the low space threshholds are not configurable.

You may have luck disabling the disk cleanup message using the info from the second article.

Hi Anna, Thanks for answering. I groaned when I saw how simple it was. Also, I had closed my question on R-Base (What is R-Base?), before your answer was posted in the view I had. Yours was the most concise and you deserved the points. Enjoy these!
