IBM ThinkPad in Sleep Mode

By rmessier ·
I have a IBM ThinkPad i Series 1400 2621 44T that is in sleep mode and won't come out of it. I have tried FN+F4, hold down the FN key when booting up and leaving the power off of it and battery out of it for 8 hours or more. I get the same thing every time. The little moon and the Z in a circle. Does anyone have any ideas how to clear it out of sleep mode?
Thanks.......Rod

Have you tried checking your BIOS settings?
Press F1 during startup when ThinkPad logo shows up...then look for any power management settings and set them to "never" or "disabled" - whichever seems to be an option.

That should at least get yourolling along, until you can get a more definitive answer.

Best of luck, if I think of anything a little less generalized I'll let you know.

Regards,

I have hit any and every key when it boots up, and I get nothing. I wish it was that easy, but thanks anyway.

Call IBM. Short of that, get a sharply pointed objedt and insert it into the back of your laptop to reset it.
