Lavasofts Ad-Aware
Spybot search and destroy

Do an internet search for these programs, download them and install them. I run Ad-aware and have had few problems. But Spybot picks up a lot that gets missed by Ad-Aware

The two above answers are good suggestions for any PC user that may have ad- or spy-ware installed on their computer (which is likely w\ users that use the internet a lot). I would say that AdAware and SpyBot Search & Destroy both will find spyware or adware installed regardless of your icon issues. Also make sure that your anti-virus is up-to-date.

Are you talking about the icons on your shortcut bar? If so, this is a bug that can occur when video resolution is changed. To resolve to original icons, first try to refresh the screen by pressing the F5 key a few times. Second, right click the icon, go to Properties in the context menu, and choose the Change Icon button on the Shortcut tab. It may show the correct icon is assigned (but isn't showing), so change to the nearest alternate available, apply, OK, go out of the dialog, and then go back in and change it back to the original icon.
HTH.
