IE 7- Offline Install? Please help.

By jshoemaker21 ·
DOes anyone know where to find the FULL IE 7 download? It seems like all the companies are making things harder to find. Also if you know how to get the Full Adobe Reader 8 install file that would be great to. I need these for systems that have dialup connections. Thanks

Internet Explorer 7: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/ie/downloads

Adobe Reader 8:
http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep2.html

After you have downloaded AdbRdr80_DLM_en_US.exe, run the program and 21-27MB of the full version AdbeRdr80_en_US.exe will be downloaded. The installation starts immediately. Before the setup is finished you need to copy the installation file out of harm's way.

If you follow the link, select your operating system and validate the XP SP2 licence, you get all 15MB of the installation file. What else do you need?

Dont believe it - it is not an offline install

by prideaux In reply to Hard to believe

wish Mr Microsoft would advertise it as such, their download page does *not* mention it, but this is definitely *not* a full offline install; i was surprised and skeptical since their earlier versions of IE was at least over 100MB, since when has MS been known to decrease size of setups?

Downloaded the file from Microsoft.com
Disabled both network adpaters.
Unplugged the cat5 and the wireless USB adapter.

Ran the installation. It did complain it cannot download updates if you follow the default path but it DID install. COMPLETELY.

I had not installed IE7 as I use Opera as my primary browser. I have used Opera for years.

I've been meaning to install it on my main desktop but never got around to it before now. Some sites only work right with IE and I have recently started installing mouse gestures for IE which almost make it beareable to use.

I figured this was as good an opportunity as any to do the installation.
