Which version of 7 do you have

The Base Versions Home and Basic can not be set the same way as the higher versions.

All you need do in the higher versions is to right click on the desktop and left click on Personalise from the drop down menu and then select Desktop from the next window to open. You then select your preferred picture from wherever you have it stored and go from there.

Doesn't come with the option to change the desktop wallpaper. But there may be third party applications out there that will help, try a Google search for win 7 starter wallpapers.

possible solution

by isenberg In reply to In Window 7

Irfanview (you can find it via a search) has the ability to set an image file as desktop wallpaper. It works in Win 7 Ultimate, although it may not work for you. Open Irfanview, go to File>Open, find your image, go to Options>Save as Wallpaper, decide how you want it to appear from the choices. Good luck!

Hello, thanks for trying to hep me, but here is no Save for picture from my PC, only Copy and Paste. I only can save picture as PNG or Bitmap from Internet. No items match my search for Irfanview. Please, is there another way?
