Ink Jet Printers vs Laser Jet Printers

By tims ·
I have noticed the price of ink jet printers comming down in price. The cost of ink jet cartridges keeps their maintenance costs high. Considering the service life of these printers and the cost of using them; warrant a switch to the higher cost laser jet printers. Of course the necessity of color printing would warrant a ink jet be available. Would there be a per/sheet cost analysis available to determine which printer to buy?

inkjet vs laser

by techrepublic In reply to Ink Jet Printers vs Laser ...

laser's are very cheap now, and you can pick up some great laserjets (like a old 4+) on ebay for next to nothing. You can upgrade them with extra memory (www.lasermemory.com ) cheaply, and get cheap toners for them.

ink jet and laser printer costs = outrageous operational costs

by spollack In reply to Ink Jet Printers vs Laser ...

In response to your wanting color printing in your office at a low cost and determining if you should use an ink jet or a laser jet, the answer is neither. If you are looking for high quality, low cost outputs, you need to look at a multifunctional unit (copier). Depending on how much fill you put on the page is going to determine how many outputs you will receive. When it comes to color, you can have up to 400% fill on the page (100% for each of the four colors). Trust me, you won't ever find an ink jet or laser jet cost efficient if you are putting any sort of fill on the page.
