Install software remotely w/admin rights

By Whatme? ·
I have several laptops not connected to a network or able to dial up to the internet at several offices. Several times a year I have to install upgrades of sveral types of software (accounting, database etc)Is there a way to, either package this software so that it will install with root admin properties or setup an admin account that this software will install without the user gaining knowledge of the passwords?
Our OS is WXP pro. Be specific especially if mentioning using a script
thanks

sure you can create a package of whatever you want to install. You can offer the package just like Microsoft does via their software update service or say Norton with their live update for virus definitions or just create the package, put it on a CD and ship it out to them. They insert CD and it has a autorun and self loading/extracting package.

If you want to know about the different packaging products available, theres the free WinInstall Lite program which can make .msi installer packages. You create the answer file to include in the package which allows self loading with autorun. If you want a generic answer file to include in the .msi package Techrepublic might have one somewhere in their archives.
