Installing Applications

When you install an application under NT some older apps install their program icons under the profile of that user. This can not be helped, but to rectify it you simply move the program group to the all users profile.

For example you are installing a program called JEDI. When you install it, it creates the following program group:

c:\winnt\profiles\your_user_name\start menu\programs\jedi

to make these icons available to all users on the machine copy the jedi folder to the following location:

c:\winnt\profiles\all users\start menu\programs

Some applications will prompt you to select whether you want to create a Common Group or a Private Group. Here, you should select Common Group if you want to make it available to all users.

Regards,

JB.
