The license for a Checkpoint module on any Bay equipment is installed on the Firewall management module. After that "Manage>Network Objects", click "New", select "router", enter info. on all the tabs. Should work like a charm.

I haven't used the BLN router, however as most users run a UNIX like operating the command you need should be the same as for any other version of firewall-1.

To install a licence key use the command "fw putlic" followed by the license strings shown on your licence from checkpoint.

To specify your management server you need to use the command:

fw putkey www.xxx.yyy.xxx (IP address of your management server.
You should then be prompted to enter you shared secret (an arbitrary password)you will also be asked to confirm this.

You will need to issue the same command on the management server this time entering the IP address of the firewall module and again enter the shared secret password.

You can confirm the connection from the firewall by issuing this command:

fw fetch www.xxx.yyy.zzz (IP address of management station)

This should retrieve the rulebase from the management server proviving there is already a compiled rulebase on the server, a message to that effectwill be displayed on the console.

Be sure you have routing in place between the firewall and management station if you temporarily enable ICPM to your management station it is a good idea to ping between then to be sure you have a valid route, this can save a lot of heartache wodering why you cannot download the rulebase to your firewall.

If the above commands do not work have a look a www.phoneboy.com the site contains a great deal of useful information on firewall-1

Hope this helps
