Installing Internet Explorer

By infosystems ·
I have a kind of silly question, but here goes.

I have a dialup connection that is shared in our office. I want to upgrade our browser to IE 6 sp1. I want to know where you can find a full download file on the Internet. I only can find the partial download. This means that our internet connection has to be running for long periods of time to download the upgrade on each computer. Can someone please tell me if there is a full version download and where I can find it?

Thanks

Interestingly, this only works from a W98 or Me system.

Download and run IEsetup.

Choose custom or minimal installation.

Click the advanced button.

Select download only.

You will be prompted to select which version of Windows you wish to install IE on.

Perform the download for each version of Windows that you support.

As a side note:
I no longer install IE6 on W98 systems.
I have seen far too many memory leaks and system slowdowns with IE 6 on W98 boxes.

Try downloading from the following site to a shared directory (assuming you are using win 2k, download the 2k version).

http://www.tucows.com/preview/193778.html

After downloading, you can copy ie6setup to the desktop of each machine and run it that way.
