installing linux on sata HDD

Hi,
I am unable to install linux on western digital sata 160 GB HDD and my machine details are

motherboard:Zebronics ,945 chip set,core 2 duo.

ram:1gb

plz tell me what i have to do.

PCLINUXOS on a Western Digital SATA 160 GB HDD, Intel Atom Dual Core mini ITX motherboard with 1 GB DDR2 RAM. The system also work with PATA drives and USB drives. Also works with UBUNTU Linux.

you need the appropriate SATA driver, if not provided with your chosen distro & version thereof.

May be happend because old kernel

Like any other device hard discs also need modules. The kernel of operating system must have modules to work with devices needs while installation. It seems that your Linux kernel don't have that module for the mentioned hard drive. Try with another hard drive or upgrade the kernel. Thanks.

Hi Bro, tell me what distro are you trying to install? You can try with Ubuntu/Red Hat Server/CentOS but when you see boot press a key to choose a kernel that is capable to detect you SATA HDD
