Installing Network card- 3com

I have been trying to install a new network card but not successful. After configuring the card, it boots up to starting inetd... and hangs. what is wrong. I am using Linux 6.2 I tried installing NE2000 but it wont recognize it at all.
need help urgently.

I couldn't get the NE2000 card to work either. On the other hand, 3Com should work. Try going into linuxconf and manually configuring the NIC card.

Check ou the hardware Compatibility list (HCL) at redhat web site. This NIC will almost certainly work with Linux. The HCL will tell you which driver to sue

The 3COM card is not an NE2000 compatible. For a 3Com 3C905 series, use 3c59x.0 or 3c90x.o kernel modules. You may have to update your redhat (somehow) for those modules to be present - I seem to recall not having that driver in RH62 stock kernel.
