Installing new modem

I have reinstalled Win 95,and trying to install my modem. I keep getting the message that "cant find modem" I have tried three modems and have the CD'S but get the same message every time.Any ideas?

Physically remove all modem adapters from your computer.

Boot to safe mode and make sure that all of the modem adapters are out of Control Panel --> Network etc. Make sure that they are out of device manager as well. From Safe Mode.

Poweroff.

Re-insert the modem.

Power on and Windows should detect and ask for the installation.

Look in the bios, usually hit delete or F2 key at boot up, and see if com ports are enabled. May be trying to install modem on a different com port than previous installation. Enable ports and try again.
You can usually enable the serial ports under peripheral devices in most bios.

Ive had a similar prob, though with an interesting twist. The modem could be installed as per usual in the control panel, but DUN could not find any modems! The solution is in microsoft knowledge base, can't find the number though. Prob not helped you much. But thought id just say what i knew :)
