Installing NIC in NT 4.0

I get the following error message when trying to install NIC in NT 4.0 Workstation.

"Network card is not present at the system."

I have tried atleast 3 different card, and all in different PCI slots, but no luck.

Any Help?

If the cards are 3COM cards you will have to run a program called PREINSTL.EXE which is located on disk 1 of the installation disks. Once this has run you will have to reboot the computer. The network card should then be detected

The problem could lie with the motherboard itself if different card and slots are used.
