Installing NIC in NT 4.0

By k_grg ·
I get the following error message when trying to install NIC in NT 4.0 Workstation.

"Network card is not present at the system."

I have tried atleast 3 different card, and all in different PCI slots, but no luck.

Any Help?

Installing NIC in NT 4.0

Hi!

This might be a classic for NT4, first of all get the latest drivers for your NIC, install them.

After NIC installation finished reinstall your current Service Pack and the error should dissapear.

I recently ran into this problem. What I did was install Service Pack and install the latest driver for NIC. It works then.

Hope it helps!

One importatnt note: Once you get the latest drivers and copy them to floppy. Don't have NT find the NIC. Select HAVE DISK and pick the driver from A:\. After completing the install reapply the Service Pack
