    Internal Email Issues

    Locked

    by ddp095 ·

I have a client who is having difficulty sending and receiving internal emails. They can send and receive outside the intranet but when they try to send an email to accounts withing the domain they do not go through. Any suggestions? The environment: Windows Server 2003, Exchange with XP systems.

    Thanks

You have to debug the problem. Start with finding out if there are any error messages. Returned mail? Not authenticating….etc.

Sorry for the lack of info – the client reports that they are not getting any error messages – simply, the internal network will only send emails to their desktop and not to their laptop – this is a new explanation I just got this morning … to me it sounds as though the network is not recognizing the laptop so either her account is not setup properly on the network and therefore not authenticating her as a user on the domain or the mail settings are incorrect. That being said, I do not have much experience with exchange … do you think you could give me a general setup rule to follow for setting up a laptop with exchange?

        Thank you
