Sounds like you need to boot into the BIOS setup

by wizard57m-cnet Moderator In reply to Internal hard drive error

not sure on your particular model, but many times you access the BIOS setup
by pressing F12 or sometimes ESC right after you power the computer on.
From there, you just find the IDE detection, and see if auto-detect is enabled.

F2 on boot for BIOS

by scndtnr In reply to Internal hard drive error

...on a D610, but good luck getting Windows 7 installed. Installing Win 7 is possible, but difficult; I'm using a D810 that is running Win 7, but only because I was able to hack the driver for the ATI Radeon video card.

Fixing Your HDD issue.

by RamonG617 In reply to Internal hard drive error

You may have an internal problem as simple as your connections. Try dissassembling your computer and checking to see if your data cable and you power supply are connected. When you boot your PC back up access the BIOS menu and check to see if your motherboard is reading your HDD.
