You want to enable Content Advisor in Internet Explorer. Here is a link to a Microsoft page with step-by-step instructions on setting it up:

While there is no 100% foolproof method (even including being there and monitoring him), there are several things you can do.
First, if you use Internet Explorer, you can go under Tools, to Internet Options and click on Content. There you can enable and configure the Content Advisor.
Here is detailed information and instructions for it:

The two most well known commercial add on products out there are Net Nanny and CyberSitter.
http://www.netnanny.com/home/home.asp
Neither has gotten glowing reviews with Net Nanny being easy to set up and use, but rather weak at content filtering and cybersitter being very good at filtering but difficult to configure. Still…only you can tell what is right for you and your child. I’ll be facing this issue soon myself as my boy grows up and starts playing with the systems here.
Good Luck! Hope this helps!

At minimum you can apply the content advisor blocking, which will provide minimal protection from such sites, this includes using third party software.
I am not sure of the date, but a Tech Republic member posted a question on this topic that got quite a few responses that may be of interest to read, the question was posted in April or May by Maxwell T. Edison, use the advanced search by date to see what answers weregiven that may be of help.
Due to the fact that any given word can be attachedto such sites, will be at best to expirement with thire party software to determine which will suit our neeeds.

In computer security, there are two basic approaches: Blocking access and auditing
In your situation, a combination of both is probably going to be the most helpful.
All the above posts deal with blocking, but there’s some things you can doto audit every site visited. I know that there is a history, and I would set up your browser to increase the level of security as well.
Most of all you have to train your child to be pure in heart. You can block and audit all day and if they are seeking out sex enough they’ll find it somehow. By this age your child should be making their own decisions based on their own personal integrity. In our culture I don’t think their is enough emphasis on sexual purity and there’s not enough of a warning about the dangers of wavering away from high standards.
