internet connectivity

HI ALL,

I USED A LAN WITH WINDOWS 2000 SERVER AND A LOT XP,98,WIND 2000 PRO, WE ADSL INTERNET.HOWEVER FOR THE PAST WEEK MY NETWORK HAS BEEN GOING HAY-WIRE.A LOT ON MY MACHINES ARE LOOSING INTERNET CONNECTING FREQUENTLY,THE MACHINES THAT HAS INERNET ACCESS FREQUENTLY DISCONNETS FROM THE SERVER AND NUMEROUS REBOOT HAS TO BE DONE TO GET CONNECTION.

I RAN SPYBOT ON ALL THE MACHINES THAT HAS INTERNET ACCESS,THERE WERE A LOT OF COOKIES THAT WERE REMOVED.HOWEVER THERE IS THIS WINDOWS 98 MACHINES THAT HAD A LOT COOKIES OF WHICH I FIXED.WHEN I REMOVE INTERNET ACCESS FROM THIS MACHINE THE NETWORK WORKS FINE AND NO PROBLEM WITH CONNECTION TO THE SERVER.

ANY REAONS FOR THIS

so, I quess your question is why are clients losing their internet connection so frequently???

first thought is, are you using your server as a proxy? OR did you just run the ICS wizard on the server to share the internet connection???

try another nic in the win98 box?
ps. what made you try removing that particular box?

I GO TO MY NETWORK PLACES AND ADD THE DNS
