Which browser?

Which version of the Internet Explorer browser are you using? What operating system?

So far, I have found references indicating it could be either a browser bug or a virus. So, we need more info to help diagnose the problem.

Sysfader could be one of many things, depending on where it's found on the system.

It could be related to NVidia Graphics Utility - To check it, go here http://www.liutilities.com/products/wintaskspro/processlibrary/sysfader/

It could be IE6 related if it's not fully patched. Has something to do with the "page transitions". http://www.wilderssecurity.com/showthread.php?t=24363 and http://weblogs.asp.net/jeffwids/archive/2007/03/12/internet-explorer-and-office-documents-sysfader-iexplore-exe-application-error.aspx

Also mentioned in one forum is that it could be a virus known as Winshow with instructions on where to go to scan for THAT critter! But, this forum at McAfee discounts that theory: http://community.mcafee.com/archive/index.php/t-177609.html and points back to the first link.

Then, there's another post indicating that it's in the display properties. http://forums.techarena.in/showthread.php?t=629831
This one gives instructions on how they fixed it. But, it's talking about WinXP. Since I can't remember if Win2K even HAD fade effects, it's worth a shot at looking into it.

I found all of these by simply doing an internet search for "sysfader". Try doing the same and see if you can't narrow down your specific set of circumstances.
