Internet Explorer -vs- Netscape

By arichart ·
For some reason I am getting a Windows Error while exploring the Internet with Netscape and Netscape shuts down. This doesn't seem to be a problem with IE, but seems that Netscape is having the problems. I went ahead and uninstalled Netscape and reinstalled it (version 4.7), and it ran fine for about 30 minutes, but it is back to the errors again. Any ideas?

Internet Explorer -vs- Netscape

IE and Netscape don't like each other. I had them both working for quite a while but since tnewer versions have come out, they became really buggy. I needed both for cross browser checks of websites I built but really only used IE for browsing.
It's kinda like MAC vs PC, neither is REALLY better, however IE is the most popular, and I found it less buggy.

First, make sure that your system and video drivers are up to date.

Next, upgrade to Netscape 4.8

Remove the space between _arc and hive47x

You might also consider Netscape 7.1. Be aware that you CANNOT import your Netscape 4.X mail or address book into Netscape 7.

Alternately, since Netscape 4.X is no longer updated or supported, I recommend that you switch to Mozilla.
www.mozilla.org

The only thing that you cannotdo with Mozilla that you can do with Netscape, is to download mail from a Netscape web-mail account.

Mozilla is the core code of Netscape 6 and 7 without the AOL overhead.

The first time you install Mozilla, it will import your Netscape Bookmarks and IE favorites.
