I want to save the file where the links are stored.

It depends on the version of IE that you are using as to whether you can import/export. In either case, you should be able to copy and paste.

Anna's answer is for the links you have set as favorites.

The typed URLs are stored in the registry, and in a system file that is stored with the temporay internet files.

To clear the typed URLs, you need to clear history from the general tab of internet options.

You can use the Import and Export command from the IE itself to export your favourites.
Command are : File -- Import and Export
from there you can specific which favourite you want to export.
