Internet2

By alageswaran ·
In regards of the above matter I would be very grateful if anyone could give me some information on internet2.

Like:
What does future hold for Internet2 in Asia?
Are there any other countries (beside US) involved in Internet2? (E.g. research)
Will Internet2 be globalized or it just remains in US?

It would be very helpful if you provide me sources on Internet2.

The best place for Information on Internet2 can be found at the Internet2 website (http://www.internet2.edu/). There are quite a few resources and a good place to start is on their information kit page (http://www.internet2.edu/html/infokit.html).
To answer your specific questions in order - the same as the rtegular internet does due to I2 being a testbed to move new technology to the current internet - Doesn't seem like it - I2 will be globalized by adding technology to current internet.

I don't believe Internet2 covers beyond US universities at this time.

All I've got is the following info:

Internet2 is a consortium being led by over 170 universities working in partnership with industry and government to develop and deploy advanced network applications and technologies, accelerating the creation of tomorrow's Internet. Internet2 is recreating the partnership among academia, industry and government that fostered today?s Internet in its infancy. The primary goals of Internet2 are to:

Create a leading edge network capability for the national research community
Enable a revolutionary Internet applications
Ensure the rapid transfer new network services and applications to the broader Internet community.

Everything mentioned seems to be relating to 'National', i.e., US right now.

You can find more info at:
