To configure IP addresses automactically ,you should have DHCP.

Look at Microsoft Knowledge Base Article Q220874 titled, "Automatic Windows 98/Me TCP/IP Addressing Without a DHCP Server".

It explains the process as well as providing step-by-step configuration steps.

Go to Start --> Settings --> Control Panel --> Network --> highlight TCP/IP (for your network card or dial up adapter --see below for more info on which adapter to use if you have more than one choice) --> click on Properties --> and either click on the button for "obtain automatically" (which is dhcp -- dynamic host configuration protocol) or you can specify your own ip address.

If you are only using the one computer and you need to use TCP/IP for internet access... you should just set itto "obtain automatically."

If your internet access is via a modem (telephone access), then you do this on the TCP/IP properties for the Dial Up Adapter.

If your internet access is via a network card (DSL or cable access), then you do this onthe TCP/IP properties for the Network Adapter.

If you need more info, include another comment.

Thanks for the help. So would it be the same when all the 11 computers are networked together?
