IP address for PC Anywhere

edison_169
I have a desktop and laptop running off of the same internet connection, a D-Link router. When I view the IP address for both computers they seem to have the same adddress. I have PC Anywhere installed on both systems but no matter what computer I use to run the program, each time the PC Anywhere program is saying can not find device. I am trying to transfer file between the two systems but can not be this thing to work. I think it is because of my ip address but I don't know where to go from here. Can you please help? Also, is there another program of website that will allow me to do this?

I presume you are running XP.
Open a DOS window by Start,Run, CMD
In the dos window run "ipconfig /all" on both machines - showing different local ip addresses.
PC anywhere, use www.gotomypc.com and make sure you have both machines registered with different names. Add the second machine if you havent
