    IrDa and Windows ME

    Could anyone help me. I am looking for a IRDA usb/serial Adapter for my machine to run my Nokia 6210 through its infrared port.Has anybody had experience with this,and what do they use for an adapter, and where can I get one. I live in the UK,I run an 800eb with 256sdram on windows me

      The cheapest is to plug the IRDA Transmitter/Receiver into the COM-2 port on the motherboard.
      Most motherboards can switch the COM 2 port from serial to IRDA.
      You can get adapters that stand alone on the desk, clip to the monitor, or are mounted internally in a drive slot.
      That is the easy part. The hard part is going to get this just released software to work.
      I would be ready for a bug or two.
      An adapter should be available in any reputable computer supply firm.
      The standards in IRDA are much better than they were, so the problems with proprietary hardware are much lower today.
