IRQ setting location?

By przemekf ·
I'm an MCSE student and I was wondering were to check for available IRQ's, I'm installing a new SMC NIC and I'm hvaing problems, the comp doesn't see the network nor does it see itself. pinging results in a message "destination host unreachable".
Thanks in advance !

IRQ setting location?

I would like to also add to the above question that I don't know I/O port address to input. I remember checking this through bios settings although I'm not sure were to go there as well!? I would please ask for detailed information.
Thanks again

Start - Run - WINMSD.

I think the problem is you load the incorrect/incompatible driver for that NIC.

Could it be the Transciever type? Set to Thinnet? (Network Icon Adapter properties?)

You can see the IRQ's being used by going to start/programs/administartive tools/windows nt diagnostics. Go to the resources tab and select IRQ's.

when u load the driver at that time in the properties of NIC u can set the IRQ value. Other way to check the IRQ value is by changing settings in the ROM BIOS
