Is TR part of Comcast???

By jimmy-jam ·
I am not the most observant person in the world but I couldn't help but notice today that the symbol on my IE7 tab I have TR open in is the same one used by Comcast. Is this a coincidence?

With each ISP, when you make the connection through their server, they load into your machine a specific version of IE that reflects the communication protocalls for that ISP. I've had the same cable provider since cable began providing internet access. At first it was TCI, then ATT and now Comcast. Each change resulted in a slightly different version of IE to suit the ISP's interface with their servers. IS Comcast your ISP?

No

They just push a registry hack to change the banner line....very annoying.

I would have to guess part of BNET or The older Ziff/Davis ;-)
BNET Business Network: BNET | TechRepublic | ZDNet

Is CNET, I believe. There are a number of domains in the CNET family including BNET, ZDNET, GameSpot, and others.

The TR logo is a "flag" symbol in black with blue and appears at the top of the page.

I knew the flag but..

What had/has me puzzled was the evil red and black C on my IE tab. Still has me puzzled but I promise.. I will lose no sleep over it ;-)

install a toolbar or something?

I do not have that issue here or at home, and I subscribe to Comcast for Internet
