ISDN or T1 or modem

By isdn ·
I have a delimma here.

One of my office is revamping its entire phone system since it sorely out of date and because it has so few lines in comparison to the number of staff there. Since there is no knowing when the revamping will take place we like to have other alternatives for connecting to main office email system.

Shall we proceed with ISDN or T1 or dedicated phone lines?

ISDN prime (PRI) offers some nice features such as direct inward dialing, might be worth looking into. Really should be speaking to a phone/data consultatant because you can't really describe your entire phone/data operation in a paragraph. Might want to consider voice over ip or voice over frame.

Definitely get a T1 if you can afford one!! It will not only give you a lot more room for growth than the ISDN line, it will also be easier to configure and infinitely more flexible in meeting both your data and voice needs. My office has dedicated T1s running between each remote and the main office. We run ATM for data, voice, and video and it has worked out really well.
