Java Applets Won't Run

By robert.springer ·
A have a user whose Java applets will not run in IE 7 or FF3. He has the latest version, version 6 update 10. The applets give the following error. I've uninstalled, reinstalled, rebooted, logged in as another user: nothing. He has no other java versions installed according to control panel.

Help!

Thanks,
Robert

reboot
re-install JRE

make sure that security SW is not blocking it (some will give a popup when it first runs).

Make sure the add-ins are not disabled.

java applets won't run

by skorpy2 In reply to Java Applets Won't Run

After no change with reloading Java, following all suggestions online, etc. , I used regedit to go to HKLM/Software/JavaSoft/Java Plug-in/10.17.2 and changed D-Word value from 1 to 0 in both "Use Java2 IExplorer" and "UseNewJava Plugin". Now applets work. Your versions, etc. may be different, but if you find and remove the restriction in regedit, your applets will work.
