JavaScript to Oracle without ASP

By Frenchwood ·
I am attemptimg to create an HTML form that puts an SQL request into an Oracle (8.1) database without using ASP.

I know this is possible, but i'm not sure how. I have the HTML & SQL knowledge, but not the JavaScript.

The SQL is as follows:

SELECT PURN, CURRENT_CARD_NUMBER FROM CARD_OWNER.CUSTOMER_ACCOUNT WHERE PURN =''

The 'PURN' field will be dynamic using an HTML form to put in the request.

If ASP is the only answer, an example would be great!

oracle's own scripting environment is set for javascript, use the oracle developer tools that came with your oracle and set the parameters in it, it will generate everything you need.

this doesn't really provide the information i'm looking for. as the idea behind this is an HTML GUI style query, without anyone needing to write any SQL

the oracle development tools will generate your html page, with the forms, to use javascript and create the query from the form data.
that is the way they are designed to work.

no manual query coding required by anyone.
the javascript coding to connect to the oracle database is generated by the development tools.
