How do I join NT 4 domain with XP Pro client?

I have done almost everything possible in Technet such as enabling Netbios over TCP/IP, installing a new protocol (Netbeui) and checking my LMHOSTS file.

It seems like I am still unable to join a NT 4 domain.

Please help.

You CAN join a NT domain with XP Pro (not with home edition).
No matter about your card config, just need to right click my computer, properties, computer name, and join domain (translating from foreign windows, I hope names are good).
You'll need admin name and password to grant you access, and that's all !

Do you get any error messages or events in the eventlog?
Just knowing that you are unable to join a domain is not enough to give an answer to why this happen. - Sorry

Try Resetting the TCP/Ip Settings on the XP client.

you can do this by trying the following command from command line

Example

netsh int ip reset c:\resetlog.txt

when you restart the PC reset the TCP/IP settings then make sure the computer name is in the NT4 Domain using server manager on the NT4 PDC and then try adding the machine to the domain using an account with Domain Admin rights to the the NT4 Domain
