Just Joining...newb question about Firefox

By WIESNERVA ·
Hey everybody, first post here...looks like a great forum.

Anyways, I'm really into music production wares, but am just starting to get going on Web Development.

I was wondering if anyone could tell me how to configure things so I could start AOL directly from Firefox. Also, why does Firefox run so slowly...is there anything I can do to optimize the speed?

Thanks in advance

From the information given, I'm not sure if the Firefox application is slow to startup or if the pages are slow to show up. Assuming the latter is your problem, you can try this tip (courtesy of CNET):
1. on the address, type "about:config", which brings you to Firefox configurations page.
2. type network
3. find the line "network.http.pipelining", change value to "true"
4. find the line "network.http.pipelining.maxrequests", change value from "4" to "10"

Hope this helps.
