Kernel32 error

by Rob K. In reply to Kernel32 error

What are you trying to do when you get the error message. If you are getting it while trying to print try the following.

create a shortcut in your startup folder to spool32.exe. This file is in C:\Windows\system\spool32.exe

After this is done you want to edit the win.ini file so that the load = value under the windows heading reads --
load = C:\Windows\System\spool32.exe

You can get to the wini.ini file by clicking on start -> run

In the dialog box type in sysedit and press enter. Find the Win.ini and edit it as stated above.

Hope this helps

Sounds like possibly a faulty or corrupt Office install. First thing I would do is uninstall, then reinstall MS Office. Be sure to back up any data you have stored in the Office directory first though. Are you running Office 2000 on Windows 95 and trying to open data files from floppy? If so, you need to first copy the file to your hard disk, then open from hard disk. Trying to open Word2000 document files from floppy in Windows 95 will give you an illegal operation error every time.
