Linksys wireless access point can't reset login password

By paul.scott ·
I have a Linksys wrt54G and am trying to connect to it. I am using XP pro and the computer runs fine. I want to set the router up to be a WAP for the office. I am plugged in using an ethernet cable and connect to it. Meannng I get an IP address. I am trying to log in through IE. I have pressd the reset button n the router and it still does not log in with a blank username and "admin" as the password which is in the manual. It had a previusly set password that was not default. How can I reset the password to log in?

30 seconds or more?

Hold the reset button in for 30 seconds (or more).
I believe the user name and the password will both be admin.

User/pass

I think that the user/pass combo depends on the year in which your Linksys device was made. It will either be admin/admin, like you said, or (blank)/admin.

Nice try-we figured it out.

The real result is that you hold the reset button for 10 seconds or so until the red status light reset and light up. The admin password and user name are right. It is admin and admin. One of my students figured it out. He is a 17yr old A+ certification student.
