Local Policy in Win2K Pro??

By karma1 ·
I'm installing Win2K Pro on my children's computer and I want to limit their ability to do certain things. For instance, I don't want them making changes to the Display or Network settings.

Their system will not be hooked up to a server, but does have a cable connection to the Net. Not that the Net conection has anything to do with this.

What is the best way for me to go about doing this?

Thanks,

Alex.

Local Policy

by SteveF68 In reply to Local Policy in Win2K Pro ...

Put a Local policy on each machine. Go to the command line and type in mmc to bring up the Management Console. Click on console then add/remove snap-in then add then choose group policy. From there just play with it a bit, there are a lot of options!

With Win@k pro just follow the below process:

START>RUN>MMC>DROP DOWN CONSOLE MENU>ADD/REMOVE SNAPP IN>ADD GROUP POLICY>OK.

EXPAND LOCAL COMP POLICY>USER CONFIG>ADMIN TEMPLATES>CONTROL PANEL.........from here you can tweak win2k to exactly what you want...
