Localization string not found!

By guy ·
Situation Windows 2000 Server SP2, Office 2000, Exchange 2000; also InCD, Umax Scanner

Problem: Each time I start the machine I get Localization string not found! Followed by 'Shell Icon notification' error messages. I have tried TechNet nothing. All ideas welcome, especially if you have had the error yourself.

Localization string not found!

This issue appears to be a problem with a copy of a driver or software that was not cabable of installing to a different localization setting ( i.e. Turkish, German, etc..). Can you provide an exact error messages provide to the Event Viewer. You should see something under 'System' or ' Software'.

The Shell Icon error, most likley has to do with the application attempting to write something to the systray. I have seen this error before after applying a SP. The application was unable to then create an icon in the systray.

I know this is not a solution, but if you can provide a more detalied error message, i may be able to provide you with additional help.

Best of Luck!
