Locked Desktop and Taskbar

My desktop and taskbar is locked and i cant right click the desktop. the taskbar and start menu in the appearance and themes of the control panel also does not respond. the folder option under the same appearance and themes cannot also be found. Can someone help?

Has anyone else had access to your machine? If so, try Ctl+Alt+Del and see if that comes up–someone might have set a screen saver to an image of the desktop. If that’s not the case, check what processes are running–might be malicious code running through. If all else fails, force a restart.

the ctrl+Alt+Del comes up alright. can’t really see any unsual process running. even when i restart the computer, the problem still persist.

Do the desktop shortcuts work? What about hitting the Windows button on the keyboard?

mavyn, nothing works but i think i’ve found out what the problem is.
the antivirus i am using after deleating the infected files cuases that problem. sometime when u restore the system to earlier dates, it comes back to normal sometimes i will have to run the back up over the whole thing before it works
