Logging onto local domain

By jhaggerty ·
I have a domain with domain controllers in different locations through the country. When a person authenticates with the network, often times they authenticate with a remote server and not the one where they reside. Is there anyway to force login with the local domain?

NT or AD?

by BFilmFan In reply to Logging onto local domain

Is this an Active Directory or NT domain?

In Active Directory, the client looks for the domain controller located in their site first and then searches for any available domain controller.

Are the remote sites in their own AD sites? Are the subnets where they are located associated correctly with the AD site?

How clients locate AD domain controllers:

Just create sites in your domain. Not onlo the users will be forced to log on THEIR DC but replication will do better performance!!! DO IT!!!
