Do a search for a data recovery program called GetDataBack on www.download.com
How did it happen that a logical drive crashed and not the main one. Please explain.

This is a very wierd situation.
I've never heard about a logical drive crashed. A logical drive in most cases is a part of your phisical drive. so if it crashed it means that your main drive crashed too and then nothing works. What could happen is that by mistake you deleted the partition, that's something else.
Please give me a little more information and I can help you better ...

PS. Go to www.download.com and type on search: recover & data, you'll find tons of free sofware that could help you

Dear friend,
It may be due to some virus most probably better scan your disk for virus from any rescue disk provided with symantec or mcaffe due to some potential viruses the logical drives are hidden , after the scan you run fdisk and check for the logical drives ..
Best of luck.
kishore.
