Lots Of Serious Nasty Problems!!!!

Ok My Computer Is Extreamly Unwell...
Problem(1):-
Windows 98SE,SCSI CD-ROM+SCSI CD-RW, 2xIDE HDD's, Windows FREEZES When Reading From A CD On Either Drive,But DOS Reads Them Fine, No New Hardware/Software Installed, No Change In Config, No LooseConnections.

Problem/Question(2):-
How Many IRQ's Does Windows 98SE Allow. Is It 15? Why Ask...(SPEC...IWILL XA100+ M/B, 128MB RAM, AMDK6/2 500Mhz, 3ISA SLOTS(1NIC), 4PCI(S/B Live Value!,ESS 56K Modem,Ultra2 SCSI Controler Card,Life View TV+FM Card),1AGP(Voodoo3 3dFX 3000))
Sys IRQ Map...IRQ0=Sys Timer, IRQ1=Keyboard, IRQ2=Programmable Interupt Controler, IRQ3=Com2, IRQ4=Com1, IRQ5=NE2000 NIC, IRQ6=Floppy Disk Controler, IRQ7=LPT1, IRQ8=CMOS, IRQ9=TV Card, IRQ10=ESS Modem, IRQ11=SCSI Cont,IRQ12=Mouse, IRQ13=S/B Live, IRQ14=IDE Controler, IRQ15=Voodoo3,S/B Live.
Could This Be The Problem To All The Illegal Operations, Its Not The RAM, And When Removing The Sound Card The Computer Works Fine For About 2Weeks Then The Problem Comes Back.

PROBLEM 1 may be solved by updating the drivers, check the microsoft web site concerning the WinSE patches
PROBLEM 2 The number of IRQ's can be checked by refering to the owners manual, check the sound card through device manager for any conflicts

Check in Control Panel/Device Manager/CD ROM/Settings if DMA is enabled for the CD drives. Enable them if not. If still freezing, try unclicking the "disconnect" box.

For your 2nd problem, remove the sound card from the PC but also remove any references in Control Panel Device Manager under "Sound, Video and Game Controllers". Replace the video card and let Win98 detect it and load the proper drivers.

One possibility your PC is suffering is that the sound card was not installed last, which it should have been.

If IRQ steering is not in use, you have a conflict between the sound card and your math floating point unit (coprocessor) at IRQ 13. It appears that you need to turn on IRQ steering.

In order to avoid the thousand character limit on answers in this forum, I'm sending you a link that explains how to do it:

Problem1)
resolve issue 2, and problem will go away.
Problem 2)
Yes, it is 15. (plus IRQ 0, system timer)
You already have IRQ sharing on look at IRQ15. Again look at IRQ 15 ... you should not share the IRQ for an AGP slot with any other devices. Free up IRQ 13, it should definitely be numeric data processor.

If future, always say whether it ever worked.
