Lotus Notes R5: "You are not authorized to access this database"

By Stories Of Justice ·
Howdy.

Another day, another Lotus Notes problem.

We have had one of the two new staff members come in this week. When I set her email up, everything was working fine. However, I was then told that her name was spelt wrong.

I tried changing her name through the client on her PC but that ended up in a mess so I deleted her account and mailfile through the Administrator program and registered a new account.

Our new staff member can now login to her Lotus Notes client, but when she tries to view her inbox or emails, she receives the error message "You are not authorized to view this database".

Clearly I have messed up - can anyone help, please?

Many thanks in advance!

Lotus Notes Access list

by djones05 In reply to Lotus Notes R5: "You are ...

First, look at the Access list properties of her Mail (at the Workspace---Lotus Notes 7 & 8.5). try to see if her name is included in her mail file(database).
if she's included or she's the manager and she still couldn't log in, try to edit the notes.ini file and delete the lines below the Timezone=-8 then save. make sure to back it up before you edit it. then, it will let you configure her profile with the lotus notes.
also look at the Domino server if she really has access to her mail file.

Delete NSF Security Settings and resolve question ???File Access is not authorized with resourceful NSF security remover software. Users easily erase NSF local security if it shows "you are not authorized to access that database" error.
