MacBook booted from wireless network by Dell

By feisty10 ·
Linksys router upstairs hardwired to a PC. I usually connect to the router no problem with my macbook. When my girlfriend uses her dell next to me downstairs we basically take turns kicking each other off the router. We have it set so that were not competeing for an IP address, but I have no idea how to solve the problem?

Don't sit next to each other?

It is almost certainly interference. Keep the laptops apart, or try sitting next to each other in a different spot.

You're already stretching it with walls and ceiling between you and the router. You never know, though. Simply repositioning yourselves, or the router, just a little bit, might help. You could also try switching wireless channels.

Does the issue still occur if you are both near the router?
